The Lord is my strength and my
song
Exodus 15: 2
Have you ever heard someone
practicing a new song at the piano? Fingers move unsurely, looking for
the right notes, timing, and rhythm. What keeps the musician from
just giving up? I think it is the song that she hears in her
heart. It's a song/desire so beautiful that it motivates and keeps her
moving, reaching, hoping, and knowing that with time, patience, and practice,
the music she hears in her heart will soon be 'music to her ears’!
I have heard so many children of God say they are not musically inclined.
Well, we serve a God who is. He is a God who is Music. Not only
that but He has given each of us a song. One that no other instrument but
ourselves can play. Sheet music meant for our eyes only. Sheet
music to compliment the instrument we are.
Sometimes we try to find the song without looking to the Maestro. Other
times we pound away day after day blaming our poor performance on broken
strings or out-of-tune keys. Little do we realize the problem lies within
ourselves. Still, at other times we busily look over the shoulder of
another, trying to play their music instead of our own. But when we look
to the Maestro, keep our own sheet music before our eyes, and practice with
patience, what music our lives make!
God has a purpose and plan for each of us, and when we realize that purpose,
our lives are a symphony to Heaven's ears.
When your life seems to be without music or is just out of tune, look to God,
our Strength and Song. He will give you direction (His Word), the right
sheet music (your purpose, His plan), and set your fingers on the right notes
(His joy) and even keep time for you ("To everything there is a season, a
time for every purpose under heaven", Ecclesiastes 3: 1). Soon your
life will 'sing' and you will be able to say, "God is my Strength and my
Song. He is the reason I sing!"
Praises to our Maestro, the one who writes the music and gives us our song!

P.S. If you have a burden that is
weighing you down, and would like someone to pray for those "floodgates to
be opened” and "the music to overflow in your ear", drop us an
e-mail. We would be blessed to be able to lift you up in prayer.
Shalom, God's peace to you,
Cindy
